The Training

Botulinum Toxin & Dermal Filler Training Course For Dentists & Physicians

Botulinum Toxin and dermal filler injections are most commonly associated with the broader aesthetic industry beyond a few lesser known medical uses. However, medical practitioners are beginning to offer Botox injections in their offices alongside their medical services. Private practice dentists and physicians are at a particular advantage when incorporating Botox and fillers into their practice, as a number of applications take place near the mouth area.

While dentists and physicians may spend a majority of their day administering injections, they are not necessarily trained in Botox or filler, even when used for dental procedures. At Botox Bar’s training program, our training course welcomes medical professionals from registered nurses up to medical doctors and dentists. Our courses work within the student’s schedule and are customizable based on the course chosen.

Our program is instructed by experienced aesthetic injectors in the field. Performing these injections on a daily basis, our course instructors are among the best to teach both medical and cosmetic uses of Botox and fillers.

Uses Of Botox In Dentistry & Beyond

Some believe that dentists only treat teeth and gums. However, they may also address conditions regarding any of the soft tissue within the mouth, the lips, jaw, and sometimes even the lymph nodes of the neck or the sinuses. This is because the human facial structure is intricately connected and dental issues can affect areas outside of and around the mouth.

Botox is used by dentists to treat certain conditions. The best example is bruxism, or teeth grinding. This condition is involuntary teeth grinding that often occurs at night. Over time, this can cause damage to the teeth and people may not even realize they are grinding until they visit the dentist. Thus, if a dentist is trained in Botulinum Toxin injections, they can immediately administer treatment.

Physicians also have this advantage. Certain concerns that a patient may express in office such as migraines can be treated with Botox injections. Also, Botox can treat side effects of certain medical conditions such as excessive sweating.

Other possible medical and cosmetic treatments that dentists may easily administer include:

  • Gummy smile treatment
  • Botox lip flip
  • Masseter Botox
  • Help patients adjust to new dentures
  • General fine lines and wrinkles

Incorporating Botox & Filler Into A Medical Practice

Incorporating both medical and cosmetic uses of Botox and filler into a medical practice can open up an entirely new revenue stream. Considering there is already a steady stream of trusting patients, this makes it easier than starting from scratch. The medical uses of Botox are easy ways to convert a patient, but then cosmetic uses, when marketed right, can drum up interest among existing patients.

Why It Makes Sense

Adding Botox and fillers to an existing medical or dental practice makes sense. dentists and physicians have an amazing knowledge base when it comes to facial anatomy. Since they may perform procedures such as nerve blocks, they have to know how to properly inject areas of the mouth and face. While not entirely the same, this gives dentists the initial skills needed.

Next, dentists already know how to treat and discuss potential complications. Patients already trust their dentist and used to them being close to their face. Dentists also only need to minimally advertising Botox and fillers among their existing patients to turn a profit.

Botox and fillers are also temporary and must be re-injected periodically for the best results. Dentists tend to see their patients about every three to six months which is when Botox needs to be refreshed as well as some fillers. This makes it a lucrative prospect for dentists.

Our program allows the student to complete the course on their own time. We understand that dentists are busy people, and that their main priority is their dental work. Our courses work on the student’s time and they can be completed at the student’s convenience.

How It Benefits Patients

One of the biggest concerns for patients interested in Botox and fillers is the potential pain of the treatment. However, at the dental office, they are often already numb. If performing lip filler or injections in the general area of the mouth, the patient will likely feel little to no pain, making this an attractive option for patients who are already familiar with Botox and fillers and may have considered them before.
Patients prefer to have multiple treatments completed at the same time. Very few dentists inject Botox and fillers, and even fewer do so purely for cosmetic purposes. Not only is this convenient for patients, but it gives dentists and their practice a competitive edge.

Similarly, physicians often have numbing agents on hand and patients may be more apt to undergo Botox or filler injections if they are already having other injections.

Our

Course Plans

Botox Bar provides three courses—one of which have hands-on components—for dentists and physicians that will give them all of the skills and additional knowledge needed to become a certified injector.

Course I: $1,099

Online Self-Paced Lecture Course

The first course is a self-paced online course that covers all of the basics of Botox, fillers, and anatomy. This is a great introduction to those brand new to the aesthetic injecting space. It consists of approximately six hours of lectures that can do on a weekend or over several weeks. It is completely up to the student and allows them the freedom and flexibility to begin their journey as a cosmetic nurse before leaving their 9 to 5.

The self-paced online lecture series does not include hands-on training. However, the student can add a hands-on course at any time. Students also will continue to have access to the training materials after finishing the course.

Course II: $3,000

One on One Hands-On Training

The hands-on training course allows registered nurses to inject Botox and filler on real, live patients. An advanced clinical injector will mentor and monitor the student throughout the entire course. Each course is a little different, but the registered nurse may perform injections such as:

  • Lip filler
  • Smile line filler
  • Cheek filler
  • Lip Flip treatment
  • Cosmetic Botox

This course is one-on-one, which offers a unique and less stressful experience for Botulinum Toxin and dermal filler training. We aim to provide registered nurses with more than a one-time training session.

Course II: $8,500

Injectables Business LLC Creation

The medical spa industry is growing exponentially, and injectable medical practices are opening up every day. However, starting a practice can be difficult and stressful. Our Injectables Business LLC creation course assists in learning everything needed to start a practice. See what one of our students had to say!

“When I first signed up for Botox Bar’s course, I was slightly terrified to go beyond my comfort zone and learn brand new skills to be used in an area of medicine that was entirely new to me. Prior to the course, I immersed myself in the didactic and videos. But, I still felt nervous about injecting a live patient for the first time. Fortunately, I was surrounded by a great instructor that eased my fears by answering my questions, and helped me adapt my injection technique. My instructor was certainly an expert in their field, and gave countless helpful tips and tricks to get the best products and tools, stay organized, remember muscles, give appropriate doses, and in the end, have an extremely satisfied patient. I carried the confidence that my instructor gave me as I injected my first patient in a clinical setting and then furthered my education through advanced training.”
